Le Monot

The first stone of the Ghia edifice was
"Le Monot", a French "bistrot", opened in 97 in Monot Street.
In the early nineties, Beirut had many restaurants, but practically no "Bistrot". The innovation was to make people gather in a relaxing, casual environment, a place that was nor a restaurant, neither a night club. In a small country the word of mouth is highly efficient. Lebanese found their way of escaping daily routine and getting in a different ambiance by simply going to the
"Monot".

The design wast he replica of a French café: small round tables, straw chairs, warm ambiance rendered by varnished wood.
The menu gathered both French and Lebanese food, delicious deserts, and above all, offered a very high quality to price return, an essential attribute in those early
tough days.
